How To Rank Blogger Blog on Google - Ultimate Guide

This question has been around for ages. Whether you are a professional blogger or newbie, this question will always cross your mind at least once.

So, is it possible to rank a blogger blog on Google? Given that number of websites are booming every year.

More and more posts are published that you find it almost impossible for a blogger blog to stand a chance.

Let me give the honest answer, It is a resounding YES!

You can still rank a blogger blog high in Google. The real factor in determining a certain posts to be shown is RELEVANCE!

Yeah, you heard that right. Google does not care what your theme is. Google does not care whether you use wordpress, bluehost or wix. Google does not care how many backlinks you have.

As long as you produce relevant content on the web and that content is what people are searching for, you are gonna outrank your competitors.

It has always been like that.

Relevance trumps backlinks.

Google is very smart in separating good content with bad content. When you write a blog posts, make sure you are writing it for the sake of helping other people.

When you analyze the Google search results, make sure that you are looking for searches that you can outrank the first page of Google.

If you can make your visitor stay on your website for a long period of time, and they are not bouncing off your page to go clicking the other pages, your posts are considered relevant in the eyes of Google.

Make sure your philosophy is somewhere near "CONTENT IS STILL AND FOREVER BE KING".

We have seen a bunch of websites that are successful without a single backlinking. You can spend hours a day promoting your posts, but trust me, that you can do much better if you spend your time to create awesome, well-researched, helpful, informative pieces of content.

Your readers will love it, Google will be proud to serve your content in front of them and your time is invested appropriately.

WHAT IS CONSIDERED A GOOD CONTENT?

A good content according to Google is when users' questions are answered.

When you have a mindset of helping people in your posts, Google will reward you for that. It has been like that even 10 years ago. And I don't think Google will change this fundamental principle in the near future.

During your keyword analysis, try looking for search results that are weak in terms of relevant content.

Don't overlook those phrases when you see authority websites keep appearing on the front page. Some of the articles may also be "OUT OF CONTEXT".

If you Google "Best baby bottles", a list of review sites might come up. Plus, Adwords ad might also blend within the results.

That phrases might have 2 meanings:

1. What are the best baby bottles? I want to read some review.
2. I want to look for best bottles to buy.

The first one will pop the best review websites, while the later will pop the most relevant ads on those keywords.

That is how Google identifies a good content. If you google "What is the height of Donald Trump". Google can simply answer that question.

But if you search for "How Donald Trump make his wealth", Google will bring you some articles with snippets. The snippets are short phrases that are captured from blog posts to give answers directly from Google search, without the user need to go to the website.

ULTIMATE STRATEGY TO RANK BLOGGER BLOG ON GOOGLE WITHOUT LINK BUILDING

We like to preach on content marketing. When we do, we do not mean blog commenting, guest posting or email to get links on other sites.

We focus on good, genuine, helpful content for your blog readers.

Consider 2 scenarios:

1 hour article writing, 5 hours promoting
VS
5 hour article writing, 0 hour promoting

Can you guess which one works better? According to us, it will always be the second one that will drive traffic better.

1 hour article writing, 5 hours promoting

You will have 30 articles per month. Decent number of articles, but your traffic will have spikes on days that you promote your content.

When you stop promoting it, it will slowly degrades and eventually died (Google penalizes your blog for trying to trick Google that your content is not as good as it looks)

5 hour article writing, 0 hour promoting

You will have 150 articles per month! That's yummy in my point of view.

Your traffic will tickle in the first 3 months. Once you see some momentum in traffic increase within month 5 to 6, it will plateau once Google decides that your articles are ranked accordingly.

Google will take some time to test and test and experiment with your posts. You will see fluctuations on Google Analytics during the first 6 months.

But once Google finish their testing phase, your traffic will be consistent and might be there for years until someone write a better content than yours.

AWESOME TRICKS TO MAKE GOOD CONTENT

What I usually do is try to write what you have in mind first. Give some length to your articles.

Once you run out of ideas, go search for some lists, how to's, best review etc. related to your posts. Just combine all information on the search results.

It will make your contents have a sense of thoroughness that search engines like the most.

CAN SNIPPET KILL BLOGGERS?

It depends on what kind of searches are being fed into the Google search.

If you type in "What's the weather today?" You will get the answer instantly. A simple question like that can be answered by Google by itself.

You don't need to waste your time and energy to write a thousand words of blog post for that.

It may sound scary that 60% of Google searches are not ended up with clicking on the search results.
But there will always be massive gap between Google intelligence to answer phrases like "How to get fit in 60 days"

The real threat of bloggers in recent years might be the infamous Google SNIPPETS. Snippets can give answer on some search phrases instantly. Of course without the need of the user to visit the website.

But they are plenty of search terms that are not able to be answered by Google even if the algorithm keeps on improving.

OTHER TIPS ON HOW TO RANK BLOGGER BLOG HIGHER ON GOOGLE

You must limit number of ads on your blog. If your blog is spammy and has a lot of popups, try to be reasonable.

You might get some cheap clicks on your ads, but it is a short term thinking. Good bloggers will not focus on ads to make money. Rather than focusing on ads, you will do way better if you use Affiliate marketing instead of ads.

Spell check posts and always use correct grammar. Grammatical error can also affect your ranking. It gives signal to Google that your blog posts are less professional.

Perfect grammar gives the impression that you have professional writer working for you. Just keep that in mind.

Another tips are, increase the length of your posts to at least 3000 words. This may sound simple but still effective. Length is a great tool to make your ranking higher. Google loves long, thorough, informative and complete blog posts to serve their users.

Why 3000 words? Isn't it too long? Yeah, it is just the general rule that you can outrank most of the content out there that usually less than 2000 words per article.

Keep in mind that do not overuse your keywords. Although you want to tell Google that your blog is targeting specific keywords, it is not necessary. You just need to include the phrases once or twice.

That is just enough to tell them that your content are relevant to the search phrases.

Provide content that is useful to visitors is a must. This is just the one thing that you need to focus on upon content creation.

If your content is not what people are searching for, they are gonna leave your site even before finishing reading your introduction section.

This is very bad for search engine algorithms. This is a mandatory signal to penalize your blog posts to rank lower than it should be.

KILLER BLOGSPOT TRICKS TO RANK WELL IN GOOGLE

When creating content, you need to split your types of content into 3 categories:

1. Precise, answering questions. (1000 words)
2. Shareable posts. (1000-2000 words)
3. Pillar posts. (3000+ words)

Precise, answering questions.

This type of content is useful when you are just starting out. This type of posts are the ones with the least competition.

Write 10 posts of this kind in your first 10 days starting out your blog. The type of contents that fit within this category are:

"How to cook while baby in your hands"
"How much is RV weight"
"What causes us to miss our target during archery"

Did you get the idea? It is like answering other peoples' questions that are not able to be answered using snippets.

Shareable posts.

This is the second type of posts that you need to write on the 10th to 20th day launching your blog.

The kind of posts that fall within this category are:

"Top 10 tips on planting a rose"
"Best way to design your backyard pool"
"5 worst weight loss tips to follow"

This kind of posts are the ones that is worth to be shared on social media. You need to think on why people should share the content to their friends and family.

Pillar posts.

The last type of posts are the longest one. This type of posts are the one that you give your all, spending 2 to 3 days of research to write it.

This is when Google sent some traffic to your previous posts. And Google will be like "Hey, this blog nails it, I gave it a chance for small less competitive keywords, and the posts did pretty well serving the readers."

Then, Google will have more trust in your blogspot blog if you do it the correct way.

The types of posts for this one are:

"How to start a blog"
"Best SEO tips"
"Best PC setup 2019"

Your keyword for this type of posts are more general and you will aim for highly competitive keywords.

Good Luck with your ambition to rank your blogger blog on Google.
